Pic of the Day 06/01/2011

I am doing the picture of the day project like last year, when I did it on facebook. Since not all my online friends are on facebook, I decided to also upload those photos this year to shuttercal. The photo will be automatically changed every day after I upload a new one, so you can come back and look :)

WIP – Plaid Scarf 29/01/2012

After finishing the plain scarf, I figured I’d start with something more demanding – a plain pattern. The yarn in natural is Alpaca and the purple one is some sockyarn left overs. I hope the Alpaca is not shrinking once I am washing it … so far it is coming along lovely. I do think of stitching a bunny at each end, but will have to wait and see …

Snoopy likes to help 28/01/2012

I’d like to thank you all for your get-well-soon messages you posted for us. Snoopy seems to be on the mend – he’s hopping everywhere, eats and cuddles just like always. His lump is shrinking. It seemed to have gone down in size at least 70%, but it is still here. Hopefully he will continue to recovery.

Here is Snoopy who was trying to help me wrapping my weaving loom for the next project :) Needless to say, he chinned and tried to chew on the loom already ..

FINISHED – Woven Scarf 27/01/2012

Life has been really busy again, so I did not even get to talk about my latest hobby – weaving. In September, hubby gave me an Ashford loom for our anniversairy. I did not get to use it since that was the time we moved. Now I finally managed to start weaving. My first project was a plain scarf.

I used three rows of knots for the ends because it looked really cute and crochet around the border to hide not so nice edges most beginner weavers have. The scarf turned out lovely.

My poor baby bunny :( 21/01/2012

Snoopy was very healthy until he turned 5 last September. He only went about 3 times to the vet in 5 years. Then he had a wet nose slit and was brought to the vet. Turned out he had an tooth infection. After a round of Baytril, he was doing better … until November, when he had a lump (abscess) on his cheek. They squeezed it out and he seemed to be fine. The lump grew very big by early December, so he had to have surgery to remove it. He recovered very well and was his bouncy self in no time ….

until last week, when his lump grew over night twice the size. He had his tooth removed on Monday. It turned out of root of the tooth and part of his jaw bone was already infected and would not have gotten better if the tooth stayed. He is not recovering very well from this surgery. His cheek is swollen and he needs to go back to the vet this Monday. My poor little guy. I am heartbroken about his troubles :( I barely slept all night worrying :(

Here is a photo of my little guy flopped in his tent yesterday to take a little nap:

Finished Japanese Box 07/01/2012

After five years of stitching and four days of finishing, I am finally all done with my Japanese Box. Here is a pic of the beauty:

I am not 100% satisfied with the finishing. I did not do as good of a job as I could have done. It still turned out fairly well.

Now what should I do next …

Snoopy and the carrot peels … 06/01/2012

I made Thai Beef in the crockpot together with some carrots. The peels and ends of the carrots were given to the Carrot Killer (aka Snoopy, the bunny) to finish off and he hoppily took care of them …

See how he has one piece of the carrot between his front paws? He wants to make sure no one is taking it from him …

Day 1 of finishing the Japanese Box 03/01/2012

So, all stitching on the box is done. Now I am working on the finishing of it.

I gathered all the stitching and finishing supplies to spread them on the floor. Look how Snoopy is trying to help by sitting on everything and chewing on the cardboard that I need – thanks Snoops.

Snoopy helping - 03.01.2012

Here is the progress after day 1 of the finishing. I am not pleased with how the connection between the two sides turned out, but will be able to improve it when I sew through it a second time. Other than that it’s really great :)
